I make you look good.
You pay me with cash, exotic trips, fancy cars or yachts.
Personal Stuff: (In case anyone is curious or needs help falling asleep)
I'm a photographer, painter & crafter nestled in a small town outside of Birmingham, Sweet Home Alabama. An import from a farm up in Neosho, Missouri (a town on the outskirts of Joplin; what's left of it). I love to make handmade greeting cards and send to people that might need a pick me up. You can see what I make outta paper at: www.kalaik.com.
I also have a love for Scottish Fold Cats and breed 1-2 litters a year. You may see my sweet cats and available Scottish Fold kittens at: www.kalaikitties.com.
God has generously blessed me with 5 very wonderful, creative and brilliant children. If you hire me for a photo shoot, that goes towards 2 college aged kids and 3 others in elementary through middle school. Thank you for that, we big families appreciate it. :-)
God has also thoughtfully blessed me with a love & passion for photography & crafting. He has also blessed me at birth with double clubfoot. Being a photographer with 2 not so well working feet/ankles has been a challenge. After 35 years of kind of sort of walking in a tiny bit of...well.... agony, 5, no 6 Doctors. said it's time to rebuild them or I'll not be able to walk at all & be in a wheelchair by 45-50 permanently. After taking 2 years off of photography for reconstructive surgery on both my left & right feet/ankles & an achilles cut/lengthening, my photography has had to take a time out while on bed-rest, wheelchair, then crutches. The good news is that I got to get all caught up on several tv series, books and got to watch a lot of paint dry.
After healing from foot surgeries in the summer of 2015, I came down with massive headaches, numbness and stroke-like symptoms..... and after several MRIs, was informed that I needed brain surgery. This was in July of 2015. So, I've now had to take over 3.5 years off from growing my business and doing what I love. Whew. I'm back to photographing now, slowly and gently. :-) I will keep adding new work to my site as I am blessed to create it with the wonderful people around me and in the beautiful places we find ourselves.
I have a large soft spot in my heart for the outdoors and I am happiest outside surrounded by nature. I find my designs are mostly inspired by nature, wildlife, mountains & the ocean. My work is edited in my humble little studio/office room that is made up of three walls--all of which are floor to ceiling windows overlooking the woods, a babbling brook, woodland birds & squirrels, and a very brave raccoon who likes to hang out on our back deck and wave hello to me & make eye contact while he brazenly scoops up the cat's food.
I hope I may share my love of capturing what I see around me with you. Thank you for reading my story and for allowing me to be your photographer. :-)
